Who calls from Gurugram, and what they ask
The city has two kinds of households side by side. One is the families who have lived in the old villages and sectors for generations, who often keep a janam patri made by the family pandit. The other is people who moved here for work at Cyber City, Golf Course Road or the Udyog Vihar offices, many of them living far from parents who would once have arranged a reading. Both end up asking much the same three things.
Career timing
Rarely “will I get a job”. More often: the offer is good, but should I move before appraisal or after; is this the year to leave for a startup; will an onsite posting come through. I read the 10th house, its lord, the 6th for the daily grind, and above all the dasha and antardasha you are in. A period can favour building where you are, or it can favour a clean break. Marriage and kundli matching
Gurgaon families often get a rishta along with a gun milan score from an app. A score of 18 or 30 tells you little on its own. I check the 7th house in both charts, the Navamsa, Mangal dosha on both sides and whether the two dashas running in the first years of marriage support each other. A flat in the Sector 80s or on Dwarka Expressway is the largest cheque most families will write. Your chart cannot tell you which builder is reliable, but it can show which months suit a commitment and which ask you to wait. I go through this using the method on property purchase timing.

What to keep ready
- Birth time from the hospital record or birth certificate, if you have it. A guessed time can shift the ascendant.
- Place of birth as a town name. Many Gurgaon residents were born elsewhere, and the birthplace is what counts.
- A photo of your old janam patri, if the family has one. I recalculate and compare the two.
- Your two or three questions, written down. Forty-five minutes goes quickly.
