Wedding season in Jaipur follows the calendar
Shehnai season in Jaipur does not start when the weather turns. It starts on Dev Uthani Ekadashi, which falls on 20 November 2026, with Tulsi Vivah the next day. From 21 November the vivah dates open, and they run until Dhanu kharmas begins around 16 December. When kharmas ends around 14 January 2027, the dates return. In Rajasthan, Akha Teej carries its own weight as a wedding day; in 2027 it is on 8 or 9 May depending on the panchang.

Marriage is the main reason Jaipur families call me, but the second reason is never far behind.
