Short answer: Looking for an astrologer in Kochi? I read your jathakam online, on video or phone, in English or Hindi. I am Saurabh Sen, an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus who has practised Vedic astrology for 10+ years, working from Bengaluru. One kundli, 45 minutes, a fixed ₹1,499, and my written remedies reach you within 48 hours.
Kerala has its own tradition, and I respect it
Kerala jyotisham is one of the richest astrology traditions in India. Families here call the horoscope ജാതകം, jathakam, and for serious questions many still go to a local jyotsyan for a prasnam. I do not replace that. What I offer is a different thing: a 45-minute, plain-language reading of your birth chart in the Parashari system, focused on your questions and your timing, with written remedies you can keep.
If you already have a jathakam written in Malayalam, send a photo along with your birth details. I recalculate the chart and check it against yours.
Papasamyam, porutham and the marriage season
When two Kerala families consider a match, they look at the star porutham and at papasamyam, the balance of malefic planets in both charts. I look at those too, and then read the 7th house, Venus and the coming dashas for each person. My approach is on kundli matching.
The calendar matters here as well. Karkidakam, the Ramayana month, is kept clear of weddings in most homes, and the season picks up again with Chingam. Many families dream of a Guruvayur wedding. If you are weighing dates, bring them to the reading and I will check them against your chart.
Vishu, Onam and families spread across the Gulf
Ask any Kochi family about Vishukkani or Onam sadya and you will hear about a relative in Dubai, Doha or Muscat who could not make it home. Gulf work is part of life in Ernakulam district, and so are the questions it raises: whether to go, when to come back, whether the next contract is wise. I read the 12th and 9th houses with the running dasha for these. See foreign settlement astrology.
The UAE is only an hour and a half behind India, so a family member there can join the same call easily during their working day or after it.
What else Kochi asks
- IT careers. Engineers at Infopark in Kakkanad ask whether to switch, move to Bengaluru or go abroad.
- Property. A flat in Edappally or a plot near the family tharavad: when the time suits a purchase.
Many of my Kochi calls include a family member joining from the Gulf.
Booking and the call
Use the booking page and send your date, exact time and place of birth. I prepare the chart ahead of time. On video I share it on screen; on a phone call I describe it as we go. After 45 minutes, my written remedies follow within 48 hours. My reading order is on kundli analysis.
I am based in Begur, Bengaluru, as the astrologer in Bangalore page explains.
Astrology reads your time. Vastu reads your place. Astro-Vastu reads both. When the home seems part of it, ask me about Astro-Vastu.
Home on leave: fitting a big decision into a short visit
For a Kochi family with someone working in the Gulf, the year often turns on one month: the annual leave. The wedding, the house warming, the purchase of a plot, a hospital visit for an elder, all of it has to fit into those few weeks. So I am often asked in March about something that will happen in August. That is the right way round. If the dates are chosen after the ticket is booked, there is little room left.
I read the chart of the person whose step it is, usually the one abroad, and check whether the leave window falls in a supportive period. If the family has a few dates in mind, I go through each against the chart and the panchang. For those who are planning to come back for good, I also read the 4th and 12th houses, which speak about home and life abroad. My page on Vastu and astrology for NRIs covers this from the house side too.
The call is in English or Hindi. Riyadh, Kuwait and Doha are two and a half hours behind India and Dubai an hour and a half, so most relatives can join in a lunch hour or as their working day ends. It lasts 45 minutes, costs ₹1,499 for one kundli, and my remedies follow in writing within two days.
Frequently asked questions
Do you do prasnam?
No. I read your birth chart in the Parashari system. For a prasnam, a local jyotsyan in Kerala is the right person.
Do you check papasamyam for marriage?
Yes, along with the star porutham. Then I read both charts in full, since timing and the 7th house matter as much as the totals.
Can my husband in Dubai join the reading?
Yes. Dubai is ninety minutes behind India, so most of my 9 AM to 8 PM slots suit him.
Is the reading in Malayalam?
I take the call in English or Hindi. The written remedies are in English.
Can I visit you in Kochi?
I have no office in Kerala. Kochi readings are online.
My husband gets leave only in August. Can you check dates for our house warming in that month?
Yes. Send the dates your family is considering. I check each one against his chart and the panchang, and tell you which suit him best within that leave window.
